Amongst these 32,000 people we can find winegrowers, vineyards employees
and some people working in other activities .
Rare fact in the Wine growing area and in France as well, the number of
winegrowers keeps increasing. In 15 years, it has increased by around 5%
(+700). However, half of them have to work on a second job to survive.
The 6,600 vineyards employees include 5,900 people working at the winegrowers
and 700 in 50 companies comprising several winegrowers. The companies having
less than 10 acres don't need any employees a and only a few companies need
more than 5 employees.

The other activities include the different suppliers of the Champagne house
