The bottles manufacturing

Components:

Raw materials Description Proportion
Dry sand (silice) Vitrifying component: You can obtain some glass by melting some pure silice (or sand); However you have to heat over 1800 Celsius degrees. 72,8 %
Sodium Carbonate Main used melting component 12,9 %
Chalk Principal stabilising agent 11,6 %
Other Feldspath (aluminium) and other products (barytium...) 2,8 %

The raw materials arrive by truck or train, are stocked in silos, weighted and mixed to obtain "the mix that you can vitrify"

Glass melting:

This mix is progressively brought to a temperature of around 1550-Celsius degrees in an oven. The height of the melting glass varies from 1.20 m to 1.50 m

Bottles manufacturing:

At the exit of the oven, the glass goes in the temperature-conditioning canal called feeder to obtain a stable temperature. It is then cut by big scissors called "paraison" corresponding to the weight of the melting glass necessary to make a bottle. The "paraison" is guided towards the forms that will form the objects. A first pass is made which is then finished in a finishing form.

Re-cooking of the bottles:

At the exit of the machines, the bottles need to be cooled but are actually re-heated on the external parts.

Bottles control:

At the exit of the cooking arch, some checks are made to verify the characteristics and the quality of the products. These operations are made by automatic machinery assisted by a qualified personnel

Conditionning and shipping of the bottles:
